At the Eleventh Hour
Paperback
(Independently published May 6, 2017)
At 5.10am on 11th November 1918, an Armistice was signed which would end the First World War at 11am. However, for some unaccountable reason, it was decided by those who make such stupid and insane decisions that the men at the sharp end, the soldiers in the trenches, would not be told and that for them the war was to continue until the very last moment. In the case of the men of the Second Battalion, East Suffolk(Volunteer) Regiment and in particular One Platoon, that meant they had the job of 'straightening' the line opposite them, to satisfy some staff officer who could only draw straight lines on his map. This story is of the last eleven hours of the War, as fought by those men..
