The Hunt for the Rocky Mountain Marmot

Finally, a good ol’ fashioned children’s adventure book! Join Amos Fogley and his adopted sister Kareena Leena on an adventure to the rugged Rocky Mountains. Joined by their brilliant neighbor Murphy Maxwell, these pals cross raging rapids, climb catastrophic cliffs, and survive an amazingly awful avalanche started by the rotten Jimmy Dinkledine. But it’s more than a book! It’s an educational escapade. While traveling side by side with Amos and Kareena Leena, readers learn geography, American history, and encounter recycled words that expand vocabulary. What started out as an imaginative exercise between a father and his 8-year-old daughter evolved into a classroom project for her 4th grade class at Whispering Meadows Elementary in Fort Wayne, IN. Together, 25 students helped co-author this children’s thriller. The illustrations were developed by a high school sophomore and edited by a retired English teacher. It was a true community project. In an effort to promote creative writing, a portion of the book sales will be donated to various school systems throughout the United States.
