The Marvel Captain America Sound Book: The First Avenger comes with an attached eight-button audio module that enables children to add sound effects and music to a story adapted from the Marvel Studios movie Captain America: The First Avenger, released in July 2011. The book, which tells the story of Steve Roger's transformation from scrawny civilian into Captain America, features both realistic illustrations and still-shots from the Marvel movie. It is designed for children ages 3 years and older.As children follow the story, they match illustrated icons on the book's pages to the colorful buttons on the sound module, pressing them to animate the book with these eight sounds:
- Four musical pieces, including Red Skull's evil-sounding voice, a patriotic refrain, a suspenseful Hydra tune, and Steve Roger's voice.
- Jets zooming.
- Grenades exploding.
- Captain America's shield protection.
- Weapons flying through the air.
The Marvel Captain America Sound Book: The First Avenger conforms to the specifications for toy safety of ASTM F963-08. Three replaceable long-life AG-13 button cell batteries that power the book's sound module are included.
