Ike Scarman and the Dinosaur Slavers of Ceres

Paperback (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform May 5, 2016) , 1 edition
Doctor Ike Scarman has spent his entire life teaching university students about dinosaurs. When a survey team announces they are to visit the dinosaur world Ceres, he seizes the opportunity to join them. But Scarman is hardly prepared for the political problems which see almost the entire team abandon the world. Trapped in the company of soldiers, Scarman is forced to make a new life for himself in the midst of every palaeontologist’s dream. After sixty years Scarman has grown into the stereotypical image of a stuffy professor, but upon Ceres his every inhibition is released. When he uncovers a secret message from a captured princess, Ike Scarman makes it his personal mission to save her. Rescuing her from a group of poachers, he flees into the dangers of the dinosaur-infested forest. Dispatched to watch out for Scarman, Sergeant Hawke can see what the scientist’s failing mind cannot: that the ‘princess’ is nothing more than entertainment hired by the poachers for their long journey. Fearful of the girl’s influence, Hawke knows she has to find Scarman before the ageing scientist realises all too late that he is not the jungle pulp hero he’s convinced himself he is.
