The weight of the world shouldn’t rest on a 17-year-old’s shoulders, but that’s what it feels like for Chase Craig. With his daddy’s last breath, he was given a goal: save Momma from The Mountain.

A task easier given than done, Chase slaves away in The Mountain, mining magical ink, to be able to afford a tattoo. With it, he hopes to join the ranks of The Rangers—an elite group who hunt dangerous monsters to keep the neighboring towns safe.

The risk is worth it in Chase’s eyes, to fulfill his daddy’s request to free his momma—and himself.
