Awakening to the happy thoughts of Sarah, Josh is brought crashing down to earth by a warning from Holman. The bodyguard informs Josh that he must break it off with her before his father finds out that his son is dating the daughter of Roy Dillinger. When pressed for reasons as to why his father would hate Roy so much, Holman is reticent and gives away nothing. What happened all those years ago that could have bred so much hostility between the two fathers?

Sarah’s injuries are healing nicely and she is now able to walk. As her legs grow in strength, so too do her feelings for Josh and she spends every spare second with him, guiding him away from sensual pleasures and toward hard work and virtue. However, with Holman’s warning, she must keep her true identity a secret from Josh’s father if her feelings are to continue to blossom and not be cut down before fully fledged. For this, Sarah is forced into deceit and lies, something more in common with Josh than herself.

Putting their immediate concerns to one side, the pair go off sailing around the Caribbean for sun, sea and carnivals. While surrounded by the tropical environs of the Bahamas and Cuba, Sarah experiences things she’s never known, as well as things she’s not come across since childhood, and begins to immerse herself in an opulent world she thought she’d never return to. Intoxicated with this carefree and sumptuous existence, she begins to forget about her duties back home and a metamorphosis gradually takes place as she follows Josh through this realm of luxury and fun.

Will Sarah lose her principles in this new world?
Or will the past creep up on them and rip it away before they’ve even begun to enjoy it?
