The care of ducks and geese is somewhat more complicated than she anticipates, and this book told in a first perspective diary format narrates the humorous trials and travails of the care of often recalcitrant geese, ducks and chickens. "The Goose Girl's" charming black and white illustrations add to the humor of the story.
