The autobiographical story of a Scottish boy's experiences of life in an English Preparatory School set in the middle of the rolling Cheshire countryside in 1960's Britain. Holm Leigh was built on the foundations of classics, sport, God and lots of fresh air schooling generations of boys. So how did a Scot's boy from the North East coast of Scotland, recently returned from East Africa, end up in the English public school system. Lions and Tigers is an affectionate memoir of the times, told in a series of anecdotal stories, it is nostalgic, funny, sad and based on real people and real experiences. Holm Leigh shut in 1969 and the author, Chris Sutherland, was the 'last of the Holm Leighans' marking the end of a long lost age. Join with him in a trip down memory lane.
