Nine year old Jeremy, or Jem to his friends, and his younger sister Katrina (Kat) are on their way back from school when they meet an old friend of their grandmother.He offers to take them on a small trip around the bay but what they never expected was the sidetrip to an island where the citizens are monkeys.Stranded and with no way to leave the island unless they can cross its full length, the children must outwit the evil king and escape from his dangerous plans in the tunnels underneath the palace.Will they be able to escape in time?
