The Snow King is a fantasy children’s/Young Adult novelette which tells the story of a young bear called Laru, who is born into a world which is ruled by an evil and ruthless polar bear called Rebus. Laru is born differently from other bears, as he is born with red fur which acts as a beacon of hope for all the animals of the kingdom. On the stormy night of his birth, a wise old Emperor penguin makes the long trek from the coast of Sovandora to guide the young cub and his parents Meena and Titan to safety, before Rebus hears of his birth. The journey is full of dangers as they must try and avoid animals that are loyal to King Rebus who will have great delight in killing the young cub. Every step of their journey must be taken with caution. The young bear learns on their perilous journey, that his birth was foretold by a wise old wolf called Lucian. The great wolf also told of a magic crystal called the light of Aroza. When the crystal and Laru come together, the young bear will be unstoppable, and will defeat all in his path and rule as the true snow king. When the group reach the shores of Sovandora, the young bear and the loyal army of supporters must get ready to face the evil Rebus in a final battle that will decide the destiny of the kingdom. If he wins, then peace will be returned to the animals. Lose and all hope is lost forever. After the battle there is another threat which could wreak havoc to the peaceful snow kingdom, one that will push the young king to the limit. The brave bear must form an unlikely alliance and gain help from the gods in order to confront this evil foe. This threat has never been as far north before until now.
