THE LITTLE GREEN HIPPOPOTAMUS

When a baby hippopotamus is born green, rather than with the usual pink skin color, her parents and the other hippos are surprised, but not concerned. As time passes and the little green hippopotamus remains a pretty avocado green...the trouble begins. Green hippo hide is just way too different for the old bully Harold Hippo to ignore. From his prejudiced perspective, he poisons the views of all the other hippos until no hippo wants anything to do with Avocado or her parents. It isn't until hippopotamus hunters burst on the scene with guns blazing that the other hippos learn that the only way they can be saved...is by working together. A journey that begins with the end of innocence for a bunch of little hippo companions, continues as Avocado and her friends show leadership and courage, and ends with all the hippos learning the valuable lesson...that the color of one's skin is the least of our worries in life.
