It carries copyrights of 1941, 1942 and 1946. The lower front flap of the dust jacket states, "Book Club Edition." It is a light-hearted book about growing up in a small-town in the golden twenties. Hildegarde Dolson Lockridge (1908-1981) was a prolific writer whose career spanned nearly fifty years. Her work appeared in major magazines and she was the author of fifteen books-all published under her maiden name of Hildegarde Dolson. Dolson was the second wife of Richard Lockridge.
