This Ain't Hardball

Our story begins in small-town America during the late 1950s. A boy nicknamed Pistol has considerable baseball talent, but he doesn’t see the need to practice. This does not sit well with his intense, almost fanatical older brother J.K. Their neighborhood has dominated the local championship ballgame since its inception ten years ago and J.K. is determined that their ten-year winning streak will continue. Pistol prepares for the championship while dealing with J.K. and learning to hit left-handed. He also finds out from his next-door neighbor what exactly is behind his older brother’s intensity. When game day finally arrives, Pistol must take on an up-and-coming hotshot from a nearby neighborhood who proves to be a very worthy opponent. Will the long winning streak be brought to a sudden halt? Who will prevail in the all-important game for the championship?
