Life hasn't been the same for Midge and her brother since Dad left and Mum married Dan, so Midge decides to run away from home. But life isn't as wonderful as she had anticipated, staying with her friend's untidy aunt. Midge gradually comes to terms with the changes within her family as she sees that Dan, too, has his own fears and vulnerabilities like everyone else.
