Holly Butterworth thinks there is only one world - the one in which she lives. She soon finds out how wrong she is when she steps into a strange world of magic with no way of finding her way home again.
Twelve year old Holly and her alter ego Joe have a series of adventures - some funny, some terrifying - as they travel in a magical trunk, capable of transporting them to different worlds.
Whilst searching for a way home again, Holly and her new friends manage to rescue a lost child, fight off vicious attacks from magical creatures and escape capture in a wild chase across the moors.
The first in a series of Holly Butterworth stories for 8 to 12 year olds, it is a modern day fantasy set in Lancashire in the North of England and in its parallel existences.
