With mismatched colored eyes and a tuft of brown hair growing within his blond locks, Julian realized very early in life that he was different. His inexplicable math and science knowledge, remarkable musical talents, and surprising foreign language skills, initially “gifts”, soon became a burden. His childhood is further complicated by haunting visions and disturbing memories of other people’s lives. Julian must assemble the puzzle of his visions in a race against time, as he, together with Fatima, his young Lebanese friend, unravel a sinister plot and attempt to stop a disaster from striking the Boston area. Tortugas is a young adult novel with the inspiration of a modern-day Frankenstein, filled with adventure, suspense, and life’s lessons learned.
