Taylor's quit being a detective. Her last case put her friends' lives in danger, and it was too much for her to handle. Now her life is relatively calm and has a semblance of normal.
That is, until the police captain's son gets kidnapped, and he asks for Taylor's help. At first, Taylor thinks the captain asked for her help just because he needed it, but then she finds out the kidnappers--the ones pulling the strings--demanded the captain bring Taylor into the scenario.
After being out of the game for months, Taylor's forced back into danger. She has to keep up with the kidnappers' crazy demands, try to find the captain's son, and pull back the layers shrouding these bad guys. As she digs deeper, she starts to find out something that terrifies her.
It seems that one of Taylor's old enemies may be trying to get revenge.

The stakes are raised and the clock ticks fast in this exciting and suspense-filled novel. This time, Taylor has no choice. If she doesn't solve the case, someone dies.
And it may very well be her.
