Jack and his great grandfather Toppy went metal hunting with a metal detector and found a wheat back penny. It was made in the same year that Toppy was born, 1928. Toppy gave it to Jack as his lucky penny. Jack entered his sailboat into the race with his classmates, and discovered that his sailboat had a bent wing. He was so sad and disappointed, but remembered his lucky penny he had in his pocket.
