Focus on Brazil

Each title in this series explores a particular country through those features which make up its individuality and character. It describes how the people live from day to day, and explains in simple terms the country's social, economic, and political structure. This title looks at the history of Brazilian colonization, and how some of its major cities have developed from the first settlements. As well as featuring Brazil's festivals and celebrations, the book studies some of the country's problems, including homelessness, deforestation, and debt.
