Moving to another Foster Home

Designed for children in foster care (ages 5-10), "Moving to another Foster Home" is part of an educational, dialogue-opening series for kids in out-of-home care. In this full-color 16-page book, Robbie Rabbit learns he must move to a new placement after his foster mom is no longer able to care for him. We learn how Robbie feels about moving and see how the child welfare professional lays the groundwork to help him improve communication. *** Relevant activities, designed to reinforce the story's main concept, are included in the back of the book. *** The story and activities were created by Adam Robe, MSW, a former foster child who was adopted at age nine and is now a child welfare professional. *** The Robbie RabbitTM series is designed specifically for child welfare professionals and foster/adoptive parents who want to: (1) Help a foster child and/or an adoption-eligible child adjust better to tough changes in life; (2) Promote communication between the child and the important people in his life; and (3) Gain insight into a child's feelings and interpretation of the world around him.
