I Wonder Why the Sky is Blue

12 year old Tia's mom has been planning a trip around the world all her life. When Tia's dad dies unexpectedly, she decides to wait no longer. Tia, her mom, and her little brother Peter who is an avid collector, set off on the adventure of a lifetime. Along the way they pick up GG, their grandma who lives in California and dedicates her life to surfing. They experience the magic of Moroccan sand dunes, take a jungle walk in Bolivia, and more. Along the way Tia writes a diary to record her journey, along with photos of the places she visits, trying to have fun and forget the sadness from her father's death that finds its way into her heart. Filled with surprise and disappointment, grief and love, Tia gains a deeper understanding of the world around her, and ultimately, her own family.
