Albert the Alligator and Pogo are at it again, this time facing off against a would-be con artist! J.E. Bell delivers another heart-pumping thrill ride in this “Vintage Comic Stories Series,” based on Walt Kelly’s award-winning characters from Okefenokee Swamp.
When Albert sends his friend off in search of catfish to satiate his never-ending hunger, Pogo goes fishing. Playing the banjo and singing at the top of his lungs, Pogo snares the attention of Dr. Legerdemain Z. Presto as his boat passes by the young possum’s. The doctor is excited that Pogo is a fisherman and immediately shows him a special elixir that makes all the fish jump INTO the boat. “Why, dat stuff is Miraculish!” Pogo exclaims. His exhilaration is all Dr. Presto needs to rope the unsuspecting Pogo into buying the fake medicine and getting him to help the doctor pull a con on Albert. Will Pogo try to pull one over his friend? Things go awry, and Pogo must enlist the help of Cousin Downwind to save Albert from drowning and bring the reprehensible Dr. Presto to justice!
