Frankie Cove

language (Tess Oliver Jan. 19, 2014)
Frankie Cove is perfect for middle grade readers age 11-16.

Prydeville is a quaint, ordinary place with extraordinary citizens. Now one of its own has returned with a sinister plot to destroy the town and twelve-year-old Frankie Cove must stop it.

Frankie Cove figures he’s already paid his dues in the crummy life club. He rarely sees his dad, a Class Six SI (Superior Intelligence) who works for the government thwarting evil plots. Frankie lives with three retired superheroes who spend most of their day fighting over the remote and watching soap operas in their underwear. And now he has to worry about being destroyed by Dagger Rockdale.

Dagger Rockdale, a Class Six Molecule Mover whisked away at birth, is returning to Prydeville. Dagger was born with the Chromosome 14 Mutation which non-scientifically speaking means super villain potential. Frankie’s father has invented an ankle cuff to neutralize the kid’s powers just in case he gets the urge to vaporize something or someone. Frankie is sure he’ll be on the top of Rockdale’s people to obliterate list. But it isn’t long before Frankie realizes that Dagger Rockdale is the least of his problems.
