Fitting in is going to be challenging for Denise Jordan and her teenage daughter, Cleo Jordan.

When the painful separation from her daughter's controlling father left Denise jobless she had no other choice but to sell the family home, turning to alcohol as a comfort and escape. But the abrupt relocation to a crime-ridden estate in London forces her to pull the pieces of her life back together. A tragic death in her estranged family causes secrets to tumble to light, which she wished had stayed buried.

Meanwhile, Cleo is trying to figure out where she belongs. Living with her recovering alcoholic mother has put a strain on their relationship, which creates an unsettling distance between them. Outside of the home, she is faced with the conflicting decision to choose the right circle of friends and not make any enemies. A severe turn of events causes Cleo to play the unexpected heroine revealing who her true friends are and forces her to make a grave decision that threatens history to repeat itself.

Will the pieces ever fit for them both?
