Forge is an adventurous kid who has just come of age and is setting out on his clan’s rite of passage ritual. Armed with nothing but his father’s spear and his mother’s Tech-Smith knowledge, he is taken on a whirlwind trip through the Cave of Trials. There he must prove that he has the Strength, the Brains, the Agility, and the Courage to be an Aceratex warrior.
Upon completion, he discovers that the great evil from long ago has escaped and now threatens all of Tov. When a group of mysterious strangers, known as the Keepers of the Core, show up at his village they insist that he is the prophesied one who must forge together the weapon that can stop the evil one.
Forge must now decide whether or not he believes this prophecy is true. How can fighting Velociwolves on the Marble Plains possibly have prepared him for a quest of this magnitude?
A - The Chronicles of Tov is a series written for the coming of age Christian child. Bookshelves are overflowing with books about witches, wizards, demigods, monsters, and other topics that the Bible clearly calls evil and there are so very few books written for the Christian tween in the action/adventure/fantasy genres. We believe there is a serious need in the book world for books that hold Christian values in high-esteem, call good good and evil evil and yet give kids that feeling of adventure that is relevant to them today.
A - No, absolutely not, the story of Tov is written allegorically. It can be enjoyed by anyone who wants an exciting story with good moral lessons. They'll see kids living out the Golden Rule and at times learning that breaking the commands given them have real consequences. They'll see engaged fathers and mothers who are strong, vibrant, devoted, and most of all involved in their children's lives.
