The people of Nar haven't seen real sunlight in two hundred years.

Most escape the shadowy, murk-filled wasteland by hiding in domed cities and virtual reality worlds. They wait for a long lost star captain's cure. They don’t know he’s dead and can never return.

Niah and Wish are the backup plan of a malfunctioning droid and a now crew-less starship. They were created to complete the captain's mission: to save the world. Niah was supposed to be a perfect copy of the dead captain, but something went wrong. That genetic mistake is a death sentence. She doesn’t have much time.

Niah is Nar’s only hope. If she can release the cure she could eradicate the murk and restore the sun. Her people could finally leave their domed cities. They could reclaim the land. They’d be free.

But the Lord of Light rules those cities and he will do anything to maintain control. Even kill the two teenage off-worlders who feel somehow, strangely familiar.
