Clipped Wings: The aftermath of domestic violence

language ( Feb. 9, 2017)
In the early morning of New Years Day 1999, I left him. It had been a particularly bad night, but I escaped. To keep my sanity in the days that followed, I wrote in a diary and recorded the roller coaster of emotions as I tried to break free from the mental and physical ties.

This is a first-hand, primary account of the legacy left behind in a young girls mind after years of domestic abuse by the man she loved. This is a diary that took almost 20 years to write the last page.
