After a night of chaos ending in bloodshed, River and Jax are on the run from the council. This brings them to Iowa, where River is introduced to a friend of Jax, and a fellow fey named Will. River begins to learn more about the heinous leaders of the shifter community and about Jax, as secrets from his past emerge from the trenches.
