The Pug's Amazing Journey: A Fable

language ( Sept. 23, 2019)
“The Pug’s Journey” is a fable about a little pug dog named Gus. The book begins with Gus living his normal, pug life with his family, a woman named Sarah, a man named Sam, their daughter Morgan and a stuffed llama named Llama.
One night, Morgan does not come home with Sarah and Sam. Gus learns that Morgan has been seriously hurt in a bicycle accident. She is in a place called Hospital where she might die. With Llama’s urging, Gus journeys out into the world to find Hospital and try to rescue Morgan.
Gus’ journey to Hospital is filled with peril including a coyote who wants to eat him, and a hawk who wants to turn him into stuffing for her nest. Gus makes his way through the outside world, of which he knows little, with more courage than any little pug could be expected to muster. Along the way, Gus makes new friends and gains wisdom which will be critical if he is to save Morgan.
“The Pug’s Journey” very closely follows Joseph Campbell’s Monomyth and will delight children and adults alike. It is filled with action, tender moments and lessons about life, friendship and love.
