About the Book

The Middle Ages, or medieval period, is an era of European history that began with the fall of the Western Roman Empire in the 5th century, and merged into the Renaissance and the Age of Discovery in the 15th century. The medieval period is the middle period of the three traditional divisions in Western history, which are: classical antiquity, the medieval period, and the modern period. The medieval period is then itself subdivided into the Early, High, and Late Middle Ages.
