Little Firefly

Damon Nielson is a senior in high school. Unlike many however, he prefers to keep to himself because dealing with the world is hard enough when you don't want to exist anymore. Between being bullied at school and struggling in a broken home, Damon just doesn't have the motivation to get over his anxiety and really start living for a change. He is distant from his one and only friend, and has accepted that he may never be good enough for Caitlyn Fullbuster, a beautiful redhead who may or may not really notice him. He eventually meets Lucy Shelby, a new transfer student who just so happens to have a small crush on Damon's friend, Grayson Slack. The only problem is, she is a mute and cannot express herself like everyone else. Under strange circumstances, Damon agrees to help Lucy who in turn will help him with Caitlyn. As the two work together, Damon is taken away on a journey and experience a friendship he had never thought possible. But will it really matter, if they succeed in their search for 'young love' and they go their separate ways? Or will the troubles of both school and his past make him just give up again and retreat like always? Can Damon learn to grow and shine bright on the darkest of nights? Or will he remain in the dark, with no light at all?
