The alien Gingamejijis find's something loud, noisy, and colorful on her lawn; a rocket! To find out where the rocket came from she sets out on a journey, seeing new planets and eating ice cream. A young girl packs and prepares to go up to space in her rocket ship. With her cat for her co-pilot and a fishbowl for a helmet she goes up to the moon to find out; is the moon really made of green cheese? In a solar system of fruit, a planet cantaloupe is threatened by an orange asteroid. It looks like no one can save them. Except for the strawberry rocket! He fires off his blueberries and (with some help), stops the orange! A boy named Ben goes up to space and tells a story about everything he saw. Twenty- two ice cream flavors and all.
