The Key: Continuing Adventures of Magic Cookie Bean

Paperback (The Key Aug. 8, 2018)
The Adventures of Magic Cookie Bean is a series of short stories featuring a precocious calico kitty named Magic. Her charismatic personality attracts a cast of characters who play significant roles in her travels and each title shares a faith-based message appropriate for all ages. In this third title "The Key", Magic accompanies Isaac the church mouse on an adventure to a far-away island where the pair meet a white-winged dove named Glory. Having been first introduced in my second title "Paris and the Purple Purse", Isaac's character is Divinely appointed to play significant roles - no doubt because of his size, intelligence, dexterity and dedication to completing a job and doing it well. As the storyline in "The Key" plays out, the reader will appreciate how Isaac has been called to such a place and time as this to perform a very special task. The Backstory…… Hi, my name is Magic! I’m a shelter kitty! My Mom always tells me how cute I am and asks me, “Magic, how did you get to be so cute?” With my squeaky little voice I simply reply, “I don’t know, I’m just me!” When I was but a little sprout, I was brought to the shelter because my owners learned they were allergic to me. And another couple said they wanted to adopt me. That couple argued a lot and there was much negative energy in the air. My Mom ended up taking home another kitty named Mr. Pumpkin. As I sat patiently in the cage, I do remember her comment as she was leaving….if it didn’t work out for that other couple, would they please call her as she thought she could adopt me too. Well, Pumpkin became a “psycho-man” and there was no peace in the house once he arrived! His siblings, Rudy and Cassidy were NOT very happy with their new “brother” and as much as my Mommy and Daddy loved Pumpkin, there were “issues”. About a week later, I was brought back to the shelter. That couple argued all the time. They decided they couldn’t keep me. The kind ladies at the shelter called my Mom. Well as I said, Pumpkin was creating issues with our siblings so my Mom now wasn’t sure if adopting me was going to be the right thing to do. She had “doubt”. Fortunately, she prayed on it for a night and the next day, voila! She arrived at the shelter and brought me home. You see, there was no room for doubt in our home, just plenty of room for love and for me!
