Readers begin to understand and love the fully realized world revolving around the Abbey as characters create connections, embark on adventures, and battle various villains. Common Sense Media (www.commonsensemedia.org) describes Redwall as "an exciting and well-told tale," which promotes "the inherent value of a peaceful existence" to readers of all ages.
