The Tin Cat & other stories is a compilation of twelve short stories for children and young-at-heart adults, set in small fictitious towns and villages in India. The first story, Tin Cat, deals with sharing, and the value that children place on their things, while the story Butter Biscuits showcases the integrity of the main character and the love she has for her sibling. Justin’s story deals with a child’s need for acceptance in a new neighbhourhood, while A Moment of Madness deals with issues such as kidnapping and fear. The Reminder Saree deals with nostalgia and love for grandparents. Bluebeard brings out the imp in every child, while The Red Velvet Box showcases the inherent curiosity that children have. Divya takes the reader through feelings of sibling jealousy, while The Dark Alley deals with children on the streets, and compassion. The 35p Peacock story talks about disappointment and sibling love, while The Gudugudupandi highlights ‘the fear of the unknown’ that children have. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. • The lost children, and other stories ..

    T S. 1809-1885 Arthur

Paperback (Ulan Press, Aug. 31, 2012)
This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. While some publishers have opted to apply OCR (optical character recognition) technology to the process, we believe this leads to sub-optimal results (frequent typographical errors, strange characters and confusing formatting) and does not adequately preserve the historical character of the original artifact. We believe this work is culturally important in its original archival form. While we strive to adequately clean and digitally enhance the original work, there are occasionally instances where imperfections such as blurred or missing pages, poor pictures or errant marks may have been introduced due to either the quality of the original work or the scanning process itself. Despite these occasional imperfections, we have brought it back into print as part of our ongoing global book preservation commitment, providing customers with access to the best possible historical reprints. We appreciate your understanding of these occasional imperfections, and sincerely hope you enjoy seeing the book in a format as close as possible to that intended by the original publisher.
