Greg Beecham's double-paged illustrations of the daily adventures of two cougar kittens and their mother are lovely. While the text is fairly minimal, the reader gets to follow the kittens from the security of their cave to their introduction to a porcupine and an escape from a hunter and dog. The last page presents facts about cougars--their environment, their eating habits, communication, family life, etc. Who can resist cute and cuddly cougar kittens?
