Notice that I said “was”. Cindi was diagnosed with Type One diabetes on August 26, 1968 when she was eleven years old. During the next forty years, Cindi would endure every possible side effect of diabetes, up to and including her death.Cindi wanted her story told. We often talked about her writing a book, but unfortunately she lost most of her vision, and later, her life, before she was able to share this amazing story of perseverance.
