    language (, May 14, 2018)
The author, Mark Jantzi traveled to Fairbanks, Alaska in late November of 1963, fresh out of college, where he was to be employed as a public health nurse. His first two years were in the city of Fairbanks, 60 years after the gold rush, and with still enough history being played out in town. The next three years he worked as a bush nurse in the native villages, accessible only by bush plane. There was plenty of danger and adventure, both at home and in the bush.
