This story was inspired by a legend Mother Angelica spoke of on her television show years ago about how good deeds done before Christmas would add a piece of straw to Jesus' manger, cushioning the adorable Christ child's arrival. The main character, Mary Grace, offers up little things, wanting to see Jesus' manger full. In the end it's overflowing and so is her love. The family in the story is special and story sweet.
