This special version of The Magical Song of Sona and Dora is the result of an extraordinary collaboration between the dynamic fifth-grade students of Michelle Gruttadauria, Kristen Tohill, Eileen Campbell, and Ilyssa Polirer, and the author Paul “Rodro” Rodriguez. This group of remarkable children generously agreed to share their unique vision and talents to illustrate Rodro’s story as a fundraiser for families and children in Puerto Rico. The Magical Song of Sona and Dora is a folktale about two fun-loving CoquĂs (tiny tree frogs) from Sonadora, Puerto Rico. When the two friends find that they are in danger of being accidentally squished they venture out into the rainforest. Their search for Ignacio the Parrot King leads them on an unexpected journey to discover the magic that will save them. All proceeds from this special version of the book will be donated to assist families in Puerto Rico that are in desperate need of medical equipment and home repairs.
