  • The Chain Of Destiny

    Bram Stoker, Chris Chundamala

    (Snewd, Dec. 24, 2019)
    • This version of The Chain Of Destiny includes a biography of the author Bram Stoker at the end of the book• This includes life before and after the release of the bookBram Stoker is best known for his 1897 publication, Dracula. This work - an epistolary novel weaving hypnotism, magic, the supernatural, and other elements of Gothic fiction - went on to sell over one million copies, and has never been out of print. 'The Chain of Destiny', originally published in 1875 as a serial in Irish magazine The Shamrock, is one of his best short works. Many of the horror stories of monsters and ghouls, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive.

    (, Oct. 29, 2015)
It was so late in the evening when I arrived at Scarp that I had but little opportunity of observing the external appearance of the house; but, as far as I could judge in the dim twilight, it was a very stately edifice of seemingly great age, built of white stone. When I passed the porch, however, I could observe its internal beauties much more closely, for a large wood fire burned in the hall and all the rooms and passages were lighted.
