    Henry James

Paperback (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, July 14, 2013)
Henry James, OM (15 April 1843 โ€“ 28 February 1916) was an American-born writer, regarded as one of the key figures of 19th-century literary realism. He was the son of Henry James, Sr. and the brother of philosopher and psychologist William James and diarist Alice James. James alternated between America and Europe for the first 20 years of his life, after which he settled in England, becoming a British subject in 1915, one year before his death. He is primarily known for the series of novels in which he portrays the encounter of Americans with Europe and Europeans. His method of writing from the point of view of a character within a tale allows him to explore issues related to consciousness and perception, and his style in later works has been compared to impressionist painting. -wikipedia

    eBook (Digireads.com, March 31, 2004)
"Daisy Miller" is Henry James's classic story of a young American woman who while traveling in Europe is courted by Frederick Winterbourne. Originally published in The Cornhill Magazine in 1878, "Daisy Miller" is a novel that plays upon the contrast between American and European society that is common to James's work. The title character's youthful innocence is sharply contrasted with the sophistication of European society in this fatefully tragic tale.

eBook (Heritage Illustrated Publishing, May 9, 2014)
    * Beautifully illustrated with atmospheric paintings by renowned artists, Daisy Miller is Henry James' charming tale of an unconventional young American beauty visiting Italy with her mother. It's a brilliant description of the stiff social conventions that still existed in Europe but were rapidly being cast off in America at the time. Written from the viewpoint of a well-bred, but rather up-tight, young American who falls hopelessly in love with her, it's a delightfully enjoyable read.* Just as accessible and engaging for today's modern readers as it would have been when first published over a century ago, the novel is one of the great works of English and American literature and continues to be widely read throughout the world.* This meticulous digital edition from Heritage Illustrated Publishing is a faithful reproduction of the original text and is enhanced with images of classic works of art carefully selected by our team of professional editors.
