Magical realism and a modern Cinderella story makes for a fun and relatable M!X read.Sixth grade is not going well for Calliope Meadow Anderson. Callie’s hair is frizzy, her best friend, Ellen, is acting weird, and to top things off, she has to get glasses. And her new specs aren’t even cute, trendy glasses—more like hideously large and geeky. But Callie soon discovers that her glasses have a special, magical perk: When she wears them, she can read people’s thoughts. Crazy glasses aside, Callie has more drama to face when she’s cast as the lead in the school play—and instead opts to be an understudy, giving the role of Cinderella to Ellen. Can Callie’s magic glasses help her see her way to leading lady, or is she destined to stay in the background forever?

As you know, Cinderella is a very famous ancient folk tale. The most popular version was published by the great German writers, the Grimm Brothers, in 1812.This is my free version with my Funny Animal Friends. You all know fairy tale... Cinderella is a beautiful girl who lives with her stepmother and stepsisters who treat her badly. One day she is transformed into a beautiful princess by a magical fairy to go to the Prince's ball where, however, she could stay until midnight. At midnight, in the haste to run away from the palace, she loses her crystal shoe. The Prince, desperately in love with Cinderella, looks for her all over the kingdom. You know that at the end he will find her and marry her in spite of all the efforts made by the evil stepmother who tried to marry off one of her ugly daughters to the Prince. In my version Cinderella is a nice and sweet pup-ling. Her stepmother and stepsisters on the contrary are ugly and wicked dogs! The Prince is not very bright but... he’s a Prince...All the images in the book (house, beautiful palace, forest, sea, sky, dogs, dresses, etc.) are made up of real photographs. The book is part of “The Free Republic of the Animals” series for which I created:1. Educational books, such as "The Great Friends learn the Letters", "The Great Friends learn the Numbers”, "The Great Friends learn the Colors”, "The Great Friends learn the Shapes” and “Why do Geese fly in V?”2. My personal versions of famous children's books with animals as subjects such as “Snow White”, “The Jungle Book”, “The Three Musketeers”, “Around the World in Eighty Days” and this “Cinderella”.3. My personal stories such as “Roma Animalia”, “The Goosy Family goes to the Enchanted Forest”, “The Great Friends go on a cruise”, “The Great Race”, “The Adventures of Casanova” and the “Animal Museum”.All the images are not illustrations but they consist of real photographs both for the backgrounds and the animals.
