His tribe is unknown.Big Foot No. 2 was killed by Captain W. J. Maltby, known as Captain Jeff, Commander of Company E, Frontier Battalion Texas Rangers, in the year of 1874. Big Foot No. 2 depredated over the counties of Callahan, Coleman, Brown, Llano, Mason, Burnett, Lampasas and Hamilton. His lieutenant, Jape, or Japy, the Comanche, was mortally wounded when Big Foot was killed, and in his (Jape's) dying confession, said that Big Foot No. 2 was a Kiowa Chief, big and brave, and had just come from the Fort Sill (U.
