The book is about a reindeer trying to get famous by joining Santa's reindeer team. He is willing to get on the team at any cost. After not getting selected he tries to manipulate the process in order to get on the team. The plan goes awry, he gets himself in deep trouble and eventually learn that there is a price to pay when you try to take a short cut to gain success. He discovers that what he really needed was not fortune and fame but the mutual trust and friendship of his peers. To get it, he would have to change his ways. People were busy getting gifts for each other and lighting up their Christmas tree. They were singing Christmas carols that would soon fill everyone with glee.
