  • Kissing Coyotes

    Marcia Vaughn, Kenneth J. Spengler

eBook (Rising Moon (Nrl), Oct. 1, 2007)
Jack Rabbit boasts idly without much consideration for how he might actually accomplish the feats that he brags about. One day he goes a little too far-claiming he's so graceful that he can dance with a rattlesnake "without getting bit" and so brave that he can kiss coyotes and live to tell the tale. With that last boast, his desert friends have had enough and they challenge Jack to do so. Just when he thinks he has gotten away with kissing three sleeping coyotes, they wake up, and chaos ensues. How Jack makes good on all of his claims results in a funny, adventurous folktale, and Vaughan's folksy narrative keeps the story flowing.
