In this children's story, Matounda is requested by Mrs. Owl to make a peace quilt for his teacher and classmates. Matounda visits the animals in the zoo to collect fabric swatches for the quilt. Matounda and the animals greet each other in the native language of their countries. Children can learn to say hello, goodbye, and thank you in several different languages. The animals work with Matounda to create the quilt. This story is a great way for young readers to learn about cultural diversity, as they see Matounda and the animals working together to create this special gift.
