    Joy Stone

    language (, Sept. 8, 2012)
Growing up in Oklahoma, which is right in the middle of Tornado Alley, was both exciting and scary at the same time. Oklahoma is a state with alot of flat land which usually gets more, as well as stronger, bad storms and tornadoes. It was often difficult to tell if a storm would turn into a tornado. When that happened, it was off to the storm cellar we went. Granny and PaPa made sure we made it to the cellar where we all stayed safe until the storms were over and the twisters gone. Before the Twister Hits tells the story of one young girl and her family and their experiences with the little storm cellar which during certain times of the year was a large part of their lives, protecting them from bad weather and tornadoes.
