When a machine cracks the barriers between the dimensions, tens of millions of people and animals fall through the cracks, ending up on different Earths with no way to return home, throughout the multiverse. This passage through the dimensions has changed them giving them powers and curses, each one different, each one more than human or animal. Pat and her sisters' cat fell through the cracks. Going from her safe home in our world, to a North America that suffered through WW3 and is still rebuilding decades later, Pat is thrust into a situation far beyond her wildest dreams. Even worse, she merged with the cat, become stronger, more agile, and with keener senses than any human alive. Yet with that power, she lost her human body becoming a cat-human hybrid, with instincts and needs that are sometimes more animal than human. . Now she is in a government safe house, kept secret from the rest of the world, with four other dimensional refugees. The researchers say they're protecting them, learning how to send them home. But there are many sides seeking to use these super humans. Even as Pat becomes closer to her companions, particularly the handsome and friendly Christoph and the young psychic Michelle, they are forced to make choices they can barely understand and the consequences could be deadly.
