    Fourteen-year-old Tala doesn't care that the world is divided between techies and nature lovers, she has her own problems. In her tight-knit, multi-cultural community, nestled in a secluded forest, her main concerns revolve around gaining the fickle attentions of her Frenchman, Alain, and avoiding the derision of her frenemies, Gwyn and Darby. Then the dream came; horrifyingly vivid and before she could catch her breath, she was thrown into the middle of a century old battle. Now she must realize the powers she didn't know she possessed in order to fight an enemy she never knew existed.

The plastics don't trust their rescuers and are suffering withdrawal from their tech.If Muluc and Tala can't find a way to consolidate the groups and discover how to put the Darkness back, they will lose all hope of fulfilling their promise.
